Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has commented on the Federal Reserve's new FedNow service, which the agency insists is not a digital currency, central bank digital currency (CBDC), or a cash substitute. Kennedy, who filed for candidacy in the upcoming US presidential election, stated that the claim would be more credible if people were not aware of the Biden administration's hostile attacks against cryptocurrencies. He further claimed that the crackdown on crypto eliminates exit ramps and removes alternative rails, strengthening government control over both the financial and political systems. Kennedy asserted that Bitcoin offers protection from financial turmoil and the inevitable crash that it will cause. He emphasized that cryptocurrencies provide the public with an escape route when the bubble bursts, whereas the White House colludes with banksters to keep everyone trapped in a bubble of profiteering and control.

Kennedy also mentioned the recent Pirate Wires post by Nic Carter that discussed Operation Chokepoint, and he compared the recent monetary expansion in the US to the printing of ten centuries of wealth in 15 years, a bonanza for the banksters. Kennedy announced his candidacy on April 5, 2023, and he would be the fourth member of his family to run for the US presidency. He is the nephew of Democratic president John F. Kennedy and the son of Robert F. Kennedy, both of whom were assassinated. Kennedy is expected to officially announce his candidacy at an event in Boston on April 19, 2023.

Kennedy warned that the populace should be wary of CBDCs, which he opined are the ultimate mechanisms for social surveillance and control. He also cited venture capitalist and angel investor Balaji Srinivasan's distinction between the FedNow project and a CBDC, saying that Balaji compared FedNow to "a virus that has evolved to evade recognition by changing its sequence without really changing its function." While Joe Biden is expected to run in 2024, a recent CNN poll suggests that many American Democrats would like to see a new candidate.
